mail carrier

Is their any Emails besides gmail that i can connect to thunderbird mail carrier?
google is inforcing its safety features and wolnt let me connect it.

You can use pretty much any email provider online that supports IMAP/POP3 protocols.


Examples:
- Protonmail (only through bridge application)

I would avoid using services such as Google, Yahoo, Microsoft due to their data policies and how they handle yours (and others) information

My Thunderbird still works with Gmail, though I think some tweaking was required to keep it working.
Authentication had to be OAuth2.
Web content accept cookies from sites had to be checked.
AFAIK this is still working going forward.

Mebious: yeah, though I'd also say ProtonMail is only really useful as a paid service in general. And the  Bridge isn't as user-friendly as it could be.
Honestly I think ProtonMail would be served well by making a Thunderbird addon that did the bridge functionality for users who don't want to run the additional software.
