Here in Brazil small bespoke pizzerias are much more common than big chains like in the US. I've visited my girlfriend in the UK once and, having tried her favourite pizza place there, I think the ones back home offer way more varied toppings way fuller in amount of ingredients.
My favourite toppings include calabresa, 5 cheeses and anchovies, although the last one is a bummer when they leave a bunch of fish spines in the anchovies.
I was confused about the "pineapple on pizza" thing a lot since to us here a "pineapple pizza" is a dessert topping that doesn't have ham, it wasn't until that was cleared up that I understood (but not agreed) why so many people seem against it.
