Tape measure

Please excuse my bad grammar. I was thinking faster than I was typing. 

But once while I was home alone a tape measure that was placed on a table next to me started slowly spinning but I just brushed it off because I thought the spring inside is doing it. But then it started to spin faster and started jumping on the table. I got really scared so I jumped from the couch and ran into my bedroom. A few seconds larer I heard keys clinking in the key hole. I thought it was my mom coming home but nobody came thought the door. So I closed the door to the bedroom and hid under the blanket until my mom came home. I never had anything like that happen to me ever again.

Does someone have a similar experience?
