how do i get a job as a teen?? finding a job i wouldn't hate is also difficult. i really dont want to work in fast food (i feel nauscous just being there for a few minutes, and all my friends who have worked there have had bad experiences), but thats one of the only available things. im turning 16 in a few months, and more opportunities open up then, so i dont know if i should just wait or not. working at a movie cinema is one of the only things i can think of because i like movies. or a bookstore, but thats only from 18 in my city. i dont mind working a lot, because i dont do anything after school. another issue is im not allowed to be vaccinated because of my mom so i dont even know if places will hire me if they have to fire me when i turn 16:/

I know u said you don't want to work in fastfood, but my first real job was at a grocery store. The atmosphere in there was completely different than in a fastfood place, it was actually quite nice. I also recommend something like an ice-cream place or a pastry shop or a cafe. Places like this usually have no problem hiring people without any experience and working hours can be flexible too!

I wish you all the luck!

I would say to look for some seasonal jobs at museums and such!

the one i worked at had a teen art museum program mainly for the summer and it was super easygoing but fun too!! I got to network a lot and meet lots of great people. I would also say to do any teen programs relating to any fields like medical, art, etc. (that pay ofc). Its good for broading your horizon if you're still  unsure of what you want to do. and even if you know you dont want to go into that field, still go ahead!! (some of my art museum co-workers knew they weren't going to work in the art field :)) ) one thing i will say about it though is they basically pay minimun wage so....

another thing, if you're forced into a corner to work at a fast food station, I would say to work at Chick-Fil-A. I luckily had great co-workers at the one I worked at, and it really got me to other positions I really thought I would never get in (people thought I was so mature for working there but THEY WERE WRONG LOLL))).

Teenage part-time worker here! (I know it's maybe very late, sorry T_T) If you want to look for a part time job, the easiest thing to do is to go outside, I'd suggest you go around your living area. (yeah, that's it). I'm NOT saying that going outside is ALL you have to do, but you it is better to work around your place. And if you find some places having a hiring sign of poster, then you can apply! (I don't know if our places/ nations are the same but in here there will be information about the job and the requirement in the hiring sign). If you can, you may check out the workplace to see the environment before you ask to apply, so you know about it (I wouldn't recommend websites online because most of the jobs in the online website are full-time like an officer, accountant, etc.) I don't know if you will see this but I wish the best for you. luv u!!!! ///>_<///

Put in applications everywhere and just wait for a call back. Have a nice resume even though it may not have anything on it, pointing out your strong suits and accomplishments in school and other things you enjoy will help. I would agree grocery stores or the mall retail stores not in holiday season are perfect first jobs. I worked as a housekeeper at a local motel my first job and it wasn't too bad. I worked at Subway LOL it was terrible would not recommend. Walmart I would not recommend either. Just from experience. :) hope this helps and also toxic enviorments with a job YOU DON'T have to deal with that!!
