will you carry my stories with you in a knapsack will you put them on shelves in the back of your closet an avid collector of dust will you light the pages on fire one by one memorizing the letters as they burn will you toss them and never think twice will you quote me to others not sure where the phrase came from -sunshine this bathroom smells like cleaning products and peach rings sounds like the last echo of your laughter when the door creaked open it feels colder than it did yesterday it looks emptier than it did yesterday and i can still taste you on my lips but you smell like fabric softener and harsh goodbyes your voice sounds like knives cutting through me you sit next to me but you still feel so far you look as beautiful as ever and i can still taste you on my lips -sunshine I could write you pages of poetry but all of my words could never be as sweet as your lips nor quite as bitter as your words -sunshine i wonder will my words linger in the back of your mind years after i'm gone Will you remember? will you piece me back together a syllable at a time will you make notes in the margins highlight my pages remember the things that made you love me I hope that you remember me. -sunshine I still have a sweet tooth but you don't satisfy it anymore the betrayal of that burns like liquor but I'll grow to love the burn -sunshine as you can probably tell i went through a rough breakup at the beginning of the year and i am a tad dramatic but they are mostly in order of when i wrote them and the final one was my goodbye to her i suppose
