man with top hat??

hi ik this is probs definitely just something random and has an explanation but i think it is still creepy so i wanna share. I was out on a walk with my dog and on my way back i was walking down a thin path between two fields, each walled off with stones and a layer of barber wire. at the top of the field before i turned the corner i noticed a man in a full black suit with like a long black jacket on, a top hat/ bowler hat i dont know the name, with gloves on. he was turned away from me with his hands held together and head down, though i could tell he was old because i could see grey hair. i just think it is weird because he was just standing in the corner of a field and to get there you had to walk up a big hill in mud as this was the countryside and his suit was very clean, and i know it's very difficult to climb over the wall so he couldn't have done that. But even if he could, why? He was standing in sort of a mourning position (hands held infront of him and head down) but it was just a random crops field that sometimes had cows in it? He was only standing a few feet away from the wall and was in the very corner of the field - the other side was fenced off and with a motorway- and didn't acknowledge me passing by or move. I went the next day and he was no longer there. It was so random and confusingggg. Another detail though is that those fields used to be the fields where people were taken to be hung a long long time ago. But also the suit didn't match the time that that would've happened in so idk. It happened a few years ago now but I still remember it so well it's weird
