I'm just saying in my humble opinion that the first season was amzing and could have been dragged out a bit more but the second season? what the heck was that? They just whipped out the alphabet and made them psychopaths. I refuse to finish it because no

I personally only liked the second part because of Mello, and that’s it. Haha, I know that’s very weird to say, but he was a character I loved from the second half. He’s probably my favorite character in the show itself.

I get that they were going for a "even tho L is gone, his legacy lives on in his successors" type vibe, and it works okay for the purpose of continuing the story, but personally I would have just preferred L lol

the 2nd half was pretty boring in the anime, but imo its super good in the manga
I barely knew about near + mello from the anime, but after reading the manga they became my fav characters

The second season was definitely a let down, you should read it instead, way better imo.

its not about the second season not deserving to exist. i mean. i can understand why people dislike it (its my less fav part) because its completely different from the first 25 ep (=7 volumes in manga).
l's death was necessary, but SPOILER WARNING AHEAD OF LAST EPISODE:
light's death too (and that could only have been done with season 2). underrated opinion but the anime represents death note SO BADLYYYY.
dont get me wrong, i dont dislike the second part, its just not my favorite one, but after reading the manga i learned to love it and, to be honest it has good character devlopments too so, give it a try cause its not that bad, its just different and bad-adapted in the anime

Honestly, I loved the whole show. To be fair though, I binged the entire show in like two days I think, so to me it was basically like watching one long season. Yes, I missed L after season 1, but I still found season 2 very exciting. And the ending? Don't even get me started. One of the best endings I have ever seen. Phenomenal. For all seasons. (and the Near hate is so forced in my opinion)
