when I'm asked if I've ever experienced something paranormal or if I believe in ghosts, THIS is the story I tell.
I was about 9 or 10 when this happened, my mum was in hospital and my dad was there with her so me and my brother had to stay with my nan. I felt really unsettled that night, not just because my mum was in surgery but because my grandmas house is just creepy. when I went to bed that night I couldn't sleep because I was so scared. my brother slept in my dads old room, my nan in her room of course and I slept in a spare room.
(I just want to clarify that I was alone in that room)
I was trying everything to fall asleep, I definitely didn't want to face the wall and have my back to the entire room but it was literally my last resort at that point. I turned around and I felt myself falling asleep finally, but then I felt someone tucking me in. like... tucking the blanket under me.
(before you think that it could've been my grandma or my brother, they were both all the way down the hall and my nans house is OLD. every step you take creaks and every door is in need of about 45 cans of WD-40. you cannot move around in that place without everyone knowing about it.)
of course I didn't move and I pretended to be asleep. I didn't hear anyone come in or anyone leave. I just laid there for what felt like hours until I fell asleep. I woke up the next day with about 5 hours of sleep and asked my nan and brother if they came into my room the previous night and they both denied it.
that whole experience would've been normal if I was at my house and my mum was home. she'd occasionally come into my room when I was asleep and tuck me in. funnily enough, her heart stopped beating during surgery that night (the awesome surgeons where able to get her heart beating again, she's practically immortal) but I like to think of it as she came back to tuck me in one last time. or I'm just telling myself that so I don't feel as scared when I remember that moment lmao.
