I love video games. Truly. I am an experienced FPS gamer, but I love trying new games, like ROBLOX or Portal. Like many of you, I started playing video games at an early age, though my favorite was Minecraft. But this isn't a show and tell all. This is about Fortnite. I remember it clearly. It started with ads. Everywhere. On YouTube. On Websites. Maybe even on buses. I don't know. What I do know is that they spammed the "make ad" button. They wanted their game out there. And they got their damned wish. Everyone started playing it. Adults, teens, even kids as young as 7 were picking up their grubby kid-sized controllers and making an Account. Hell, I even played it. And then came the seasons. Seasons after seasons, each modifying some things and taking away what made the game fun. A lot of people will say "well yeah, s0ggy, but they made the game even MORE fun by adding a ton of cool shit!" I don't care. They took the soul from the game. But does Fortnite really have a soul? Isn't it just built up on a mountain of screeching 9-year-old Ninja stans and overpriced skins? But that's just an opinion. My opinion. Thank you for reading.
