Sims 2 is so dramatic. I had a sim starve to death because she kept passing out in front of the refrigerator.

Idk if any of you are familiar the the simstuber Plumbella but she speaks a lot on the subject. The sims 2 has the best gameplay. As she says, "I'm a whore for lore". and there is just so much of it in the sims 2. So much happens with the preexisting sims it feels like you jumped into to someone else's save file in the best way. I also love how challenging the game was. My sims children used to get taken away all the time from neglect because it was literally so hard to just keep them alive and I miss that challenge. When playing the sims 4 I sometimes really miss the stress and anxiety the sims 2 gave me because you could never be bored with it. theres literally not enough time to get bored because someone is always dying or something. And I would use the time not passing on community lots to my advantage.

same. because you don't have to use origin to install it and like like it's graphics still somewhat hold up plus the gameplay is pretty good ngl

i just bought the sims 2 a few days ago from a local thrift store for 1€ :))
I like the storyline so far, it seems like theirs a lot of lore like the others have already said BUT I don't really get how it works yet.. how do I leave my lot? and are there any places to visit or something cause I am so lost, everything I do is stay at home and take care of my sim because I don't know how to explore the game hwelp T_T

sims 2 had lit sm good plot and details in it. the graphics areant even that bad imo and the details they put and effort into the game compared to the other ones is amazing. only thing that i think has been better than the sims 2 game is the map in sims 3.

I love the sims 2 sm! It was my first very own sims game and i will always put it on top of every other game of this series. Maybe this game is not the prettiest i still like simple graphic after all those years, expansion packs are fun and have a lot to offer. I also have the sims 2 for psp and heck, those dialogs are the funniest thing i've ever seen, iconic. And the sims stories are amazing too, especially castaway, my fav. I will forever defend this game fr

I actually *do* love the Sims 2 more than whatever Sims 4 is pushing out these days. There's always something so charming about watching over your sim take control of their life and how different personalities react to one another. :)

YIPPEEEE SIMS 2!!!
Other than my recent sims 4 kick, it was like the only sims game I played for a hot minute there. I only played it for the first time back in 2022, and I fell completely head over heels.

I'm not huge on premade stuff (why follow someone else's story when i can make my own WITH MORE DRAMA muahahaha) but I love the Sims 2 for all the tiny details, the dynamic animations (that pizza tho), and the goofiness balanced with a kind of grittiness?? i guess?. The CC is good too, it's great to see all the vintage emo/goth/punky/2000s chic stuff still preserved on sites like MTS :P Compared to finding CC for TS1 it feels like a breeze.
It'd be nice to have a revamped TS2 with 3's open world, not that that would ever happen.

I think I like sims 3 most because of the open world, but I’m currently playing Sims 2 and you can build your own small town/city if you choose the biggest lot and use apartments. They’re equal opponents

Sims 2 is cool! It has an indescribable atmosphere and elaboration in detail, sometimes it gives me pleasure just to watch how my characters live, I also keep silent about the fact that you can go through full-fledged PLOTS in other families (For example, the Goth Family).
It's a pity that the game can break down because of any little thing..
But Sims 2 is still cool! Sims 2 my love <3 <3

SIMS 2 MENTION!!!
Game literally saved my life on more than one occasion, got me thru some tough times. 100% recommend that game over any of the others, the only things i'd probably change are to make it open world, have different save files and maybe story progression, though the lore by itself is enough to make up for the lack of progression UGHHH it's so good lmao!!

The Sims 2 was iconic. Loved the direct control over the Sims. The music was also awesome. If it weren't for that game id have never heard the song take me home by Reggie and the full effect LOL. Also Paramore was a perfect addition.

omg i LOVE the sims 2!!!! the lore (chef's kiss) is insane and i also love the way you can interpret it + the sims' actions in so many ways overall! and i love reading about/watching others interpretations. wdym mortimer has a positive memory of bella getting abducted? how was magic so common in sims 1 but by the sims 2 we only see these two witches (from extreme sides of the magic spectrum) casting their spells randomly, as if as an act of rebellion, like one sims youtuber put it? what does it say about vidcund curious that he STILL has a crush on circe beaker, after all these years?
i love combining elements from the other games, such as the ts3 trait system or ts4 furniture, to my game and aaaaaa, the themed custom neighbourhoods are also fun!! i'm currently playing with fellbridge, a 90s-inspired neighbourhood from modthesims :3 honestly if anyone wants to further yap about sims with me pls feel free to send a friend request or smth!

TS2 is BY FAR my fav sims game, I had to get it through questionable methods years ago, I never thought I'd see EA bring it back along with the original for digital purchase! It just feels so much more in-depth game play wise compared to future iterations (looking at you, TS4)

I played the original The Sims PC Demo, as well as the console port of The Sims and The Sims Bustin Out on PS2 before I got hold of The Sims 2 on PC... but it is STILL my favorite entry in the series!
