When I lived in Toronto they had great ones but they all closed down over the years, I went recently to a goth night in Cincinnati and it was dead. Still fun to dance though.

It’s mostly an older crowd, I think it’s safe to say the irl scene is on its last legs.

It's mostly in the big cities and its pretty dead for the younger generation. I think a youtuber said to host house parties if you can't enter a club... but let's be honest most parents are going to say no, and you damn well do not want to pick up all the trash other people leave behind.

in my experience i've been able to find cool "goth nite" events at typically-non-goth clubs. also, instagram is great for finding goth/metal/punk house show and small event flyers! bands and house venues will sometimes tag their flyers with things like "#(city or state initials) shows" or "#(city or state initials)musicscene". once you find one they're full of tags for other local bands and venues :)

The only goth club that I've seen in my city is a once a month event at a night club. I found this event and some basement shows by looking in my area with keyworks on Facebook. I have yet to go, but I'd recommend searching on social medias for local events

I don’t live there anymore, but there’s a couple goth clubs in Texas I got to go to in the last few years, as well as a good number of gothy events. I don’t know of any in my current state except I assume there are some in the largest city and maybe *some* of the larger college towns. Unfortunately I feel like you basically have to be a detective and also incredibly lucky to find goth events in a lot of places :(

Anyone here ever go to The Castle by Tampa? Highly recommend for anyone ever in Florida. 80's night is a ton of fun. Lot's of interesting outfits, ended up dancing with someone dressed as Solaire of Astora last time.

In Vancouver (BC)

There's a few every month at a place called Red Room, and there is an online event group
called BC Goth, Industrial, & EBM Community
which recently hosted a larger event at the Cobalt, I guess that will be the last one for the season.

They seem to be pretty on the ball, but I would honestly love to find a more underground scene that's welcoming, intimate and/or by word of mouth.

Maybe even hosting your own event could be a great idea 🕷

the irl scene is definitely on its last legs. Ive been in Cleveland/Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Chicago, and Milwaukee, and the most you get are once a month Goth nights. If you're at all an elitist about the music, you'll most likely leave disappointed. What I mean by that, is that you'll hear Type-O and She Wants Revenge rather than anything Industrial. I knew a couple people in Atlanta who play for the Club De Vampiros event, and it's great, but not exactly goth or packed in my experience.

tldr; once a month nights, tiktokers, or moving to New York is gonna be the best u get out there 0__o

I've heard a few times that the scene is very, very regionally dependent, or even city or neighborhood-specific... Here in Portland, it's doing okay-- not thriving with huge numbers, perhaps-- but we're not a very large city anyways. I hear it's really thriving in Seattle, and bigger cities in California. East Coast in terms of New York and surrounding areas seems to be doing well, too.

People say Western Europe and especially Germany (maybe because of WGT?) is leading the way in terms of growth!

I think the demand is there, it's an issue of profit and meeting standards, perhaps. If you live in an area where there's not even a goth night, I really recommend networking with local goths and starting out with house parties. If that's good enough, then at least you have an option for goth music and nightlife-- and if you need more space, well, that's how clubs start! Or you could reach out and see about starting a goth night at a club in your city, once you prove you have the demand.

Lots of new bands emerging in the scene, so it's definitely not dying!! Misery Mile and Rosegarden Funeral Party are my favorites-- but there's a big renaissance happening that will spread to smaller cities, too.

i mostly just find a lot of non-dedicated goth clubs tbh.. like closer to a "organization" that bounces around in atlanta & like clubs or venues doing goth nights. it sucks so bad seeing goth clubs die out
