Not a bad list! I don't listen to Octane, but from all I've seen they seem like a mix of metalcore and generic newer metal genre type of stuff. I don't say generic as in bad, but just a mellow approach to metal-ish bands. Much better than the billions of classic rock stations everywhere though. 


I like the Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, Ice Nine Kills, Asking Alexandria, Spiritbox, Trivium, Of Mice and Men and Wage War songs mentioned here from 2021. All solid choices. 

I would say that there are also some additional notable bands that released some bangers in 2021 that you might want to check out that didn't make this list, but are 100% metalcore: Phinehas - The Fire Itself, Silent Planet - Iridescent, See You Space Cowboy - The Romance of Affliction, Erra - Self-titled, Invent Animate - The Sun Sleeps, As if it Never Was, Darko US, LandMVarks - Lost in the Waves and Every Time I Die - Radical.
