I probably couldn't pick a single favourite game, but I could name my favourite series.

Metal Gear
I love the metal gear series, sons of liberty is probably my favourite one story wise, but Snake eater has the best gameplay hands down. That's not to say that Snake eater doesn't have an amazing story, especially if you're a fan of alternate history, but Sons of liberty is something truly unique and deep. It also introduces my favourite metal gear character, Raiden. Even the psp Metal gear games are excellent, peace walker has some of the best gameplay in the entire series, and portable ops plays very similar to Metal gear solid 3 subsistence.

Max Payne
Max payne is unmatched when it comes to third person shooters. The fall of Max Payne is excellent, and the film noire theme really makes it something special. The gameplay loop never really gets boring, especially when it gets to the point of gunning down an entire room before the first body even hits the floor, but I feel like the series hits its peak with the final entry in the series. Max Payne 3 is an ugly game. It doesn't shy away from its violence, but it doens't glorify it either. They were able to turn a series that was basically a John Woo noir movie, into something terribly grim and almost akin to a book like the heart of darkness. Not to say Max Payne 3 doesn't have its action movie moments, but they're always balanced out by horrific scenes of gang executions and corrupt police taking part in human trafficing.

Devil may cry
Not much I can say about devil may cry that most people don't already know. Playing this game has ruined most other games that have sword combat in them for me, because the DMC series does it so well. If I had to pick a favourite game, I'd probably go with the first one, with three as a close second.

Persona
I was never too big into JRPGs before I got into persona. Being one of the two vita owners on planet earth means I got to play persona 4 golden before it was on pc, and something about it really clicked with me. The use of Jungian psychology was super interesting, the characters were likeable, and the small town feeling of the game was comfy. The double life aspect of having to balance student life with solving murders was really enjoyable to me as a fan of the superhero genre. The fact that the enemies you were fighting were mostly all creatures or characters from folklore was also appealing.

Stardew Valley 

Wildermyth, Animal crossing, Pokemon (Mostly X/Y or Sapphire and Ruby), Miitopia, The Sims, The Forgotten City, What remains Of Edith Finch. They're p good. Wildermyth is a RPG type game, similar to D&D, Miitopia is also an RPG but more like Final Fantasy but you only control one character. The Forgotten City is hard to explain, but its kind of an investigation type game. What Remains Of Edith Finch is less of a game, its a walking simulator but is really good. Also kind of an investigation type game. 

its hard for me to pick a clear favorite game, but splatoon 2 is the game ive stuck with the longest. ive never played a multiplayer pvp game for so long before--there was a good year+ time period where i got on every day.

Dead by daylight! It’s always been my favorite!

my favorite game is probably going to be affected by what i'm currently into, but the overall best video game ive played is probably hollow knight. it's such a fun game, has such interesting lore and the gameplay is so much fun. haven't played it in months but when silksong is announced or when i feel like it, i'll probably pick it up again and play through the game

I've fallen into a retro collecting binge the last few years and rediscovered my love for the PS1 and Dreamcast. Stuff like The Ring Terror's Realm and Chrono Cross are my jam.
