80s bands and songs that inspired later projects in the 90s 00s and so on

So I'm no 80s kid but there is a spot in my heart for the music, especially the hard rock, punk, and alternative scene. If you guys seem into this era of music that inspired bands like Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, and other various sounds similar to that I have some suggestions for ya.

I heavily recommend the band Living Color with their civil rights and revolution sounding songs that I believe inspired RATM , The Pixies for their very ahead of their time sound that sounds like it could be from an indie album from 2008, and Fugazi for their just awesome sounding punk.
