imo i feel like mall goth was kind of allways there but like evolved into newer things and kind of lose the goth element (the music genre) like in 2015 yk there was a rise with all the grunge sad girls and even now like the e girl is kind of similar but now there allot more people wearing "traditional" mall goth clothes
