Current favourite, favourite of all time.  Any kind of favourite!

The main thing I miss from the "old internet" was discovering new music from all over the world.  You had to go actively go searching for it which made it feels so special when you discovered something amazing.

Idoli - Odbrana i poslednji dani

Widely lauded by many rock critic talking heads as the best popular music album to come out of these lands, and I'm inclined to agree.

What an absolute banger of an album.  I've been listening to it all afternoon!

I can't believe how old it is, how ahead of it's time it was.  You can hear how it influenced soooooo many other artists.  I genuinely can't get over how good it is.

I can't believe it... I thought that I was the only guy from Serbia on this network and I see that Aldroghar is from my country as well :D

Unlucky (or lucky) for you Agathon, here is another Serbian band but these guys are a bit different from Idoli. They are called Bjesovi (Named by the book "Deamons" by F. Dostoevsky) and they are rocking some trippy grunge sound:

I would suggest you to check out their 2nd, self-titled album from '94. It's the easiest one to start with.

i havent listened to my own country's music in years tbqh

i get nostalgic but very rare so i dont have much song choices to pick out from

theres only one song in my mind that becomes an earworm when i listen to it

this song really stand the test of time for me
the Tagalog (most used Filipino dialect) in this is kinda like how Old English were
very verbose with the use of old fashioned formal Tagalog words
(sorta since it may come across simple to most old folks, politicians, teachers and Filipino language/history majors)

not easy to understand for a casual Tagalog speaker like me tho LMAO
heck i need to look up the lyrics for it so i can follow along whats he talking about
(tho i kinda get the gist of the song probably)

sadly this band has disbanded but the cool part tho is,
the vocalist pursued high education in law and now is a representative basic human rights
this might explain his lyricisms in their songs haha

Hey, nice to hear someone from Philippines. I got hooked up on one song from your country. It's "Banal na aso" by band called Yano.

I really like this live version by their former singer Dong Abay. It was recorded two years ago, if I'm correct:
