Feed of friends' blogs

I'd like a feed of friends' blog posts in addition to just the blogs I've subscribed to, just so there's an easier way of discovering and interacting with posts from existing friends who I've not yet subscribed to. alternatively, maybe I'd like it to auto subscribe me to friends' blogs, though i can see that getting overwhelming with lots of friends, and I like the separation of Twitter's lists or its timeline of users you have notifications on for.
