Making ends meet without a degree

What are your thoughts on making a living without attending college, possible routes to doing so, etc? Responses from those that have actually done this are appreciated.

I do understand that going to college (at least, if you play your cards right) is 9 times out of 10 the better option. But, assuming that isn't happening, what would you do?

I got lucky and may be landing an opportunity for a free pharmacy technician certification through my high school, and if that works out, that's probably what I'll try to do. Still, I'm curious what others think on the subject.

vocational or trade school would be the way to go, and there are actually A LOT of trade jobs that pay WAY better than most office jobs
