I remember reading stories of people who died for minutes and came back and from what I read, what ever you believe will happen :)  So everyone is correct personally. (and its comforting)

I debate myself what it would be for me, reincarnation sounds neat and can happen for infinite reasons, but also nothing sounds comfy, what I mean is like falling asleep that unconscious nothing before your dreams kick up or you wake up. :o Forever, I wouldn't know and thats nice, but discussing this with people, its not a thought most like :]

at first i was against thinking about it, hated talking about it when someone brings it up because why should we bother to know? even if we did find out it'll be too late anyways and nobody will ever be able to prove how it happens because nobody makes it back. as u can tell im quite the non believer of divine things like god and such, i rather believe those that have been scientifically proven to be true, i am an atheist after all. however as time went by i  eventually grew curious as well, how DOES it happen? is it true that all the good things that ever happened in your lifetime would flash in your brain before you enter the gates of the purgatory--or anything of the sort? its so intriguing,, throughout all of this i also learned that curiosity drives us crazy which i believe is what makes us human, its kind of sad that we'll never know though. i like to think that the aftermath of that is just nothingness, like poof you're just gone. no empty feeling or anything of the sorts.

i do think reincarnation might be possible, but only if the person is worthy and/or deserves to be reincarnated.

if not that then i think there might be a chance there is an afterlife of some sort but idk.

there is a good chance though that your death/life has no significance and you just kinda cease to exist because your conciousness is you. so if your brain is dead and your body doesnt work anymore youre just gone forever.

We could either go to heaven or hell which is unknown, and wait for the coming of the Messiah so we can be resurrected and sent back to the holy land of Israel where all Jews will live in peace

I don't particularly have a belief but I did see an interesting concept (not a new one at all just new to me)

It's possible when we die we go to heaven and hell, but not like the flaming one and the pearly gates.

Instead more of a reincarnation, where our view of life is our hell or heaven.

For example, some people look at a rainy day and praise nature, whilst others look and sigh because they will get wet.

Or on a hot sunny day, one could say

''It's hot as hell'' whilst the other says ''This is just heavenly''

But of course, this belief is also flawed because naturally some are extremely unfortunate and shouldn't be expected to always have a positive outlook. But I think it is definitely an interesting concept!

i really don't know, i have too many answers.

+ there's nothing

+ it's whatever we believe it truly is in life (i.e: you always play heaven/hell bluff but deep down you genuinely believe it's nothing)

+ reincarnation, sort of like the buddhist idea but slightly different

+ loading screen... until you're born

honestly this question keeps me alive out of fear but also keeps me idealizing an early death. maybe we return to stardust and become part of the constellations, watching earth from far far above.

This is based on my personal beliefs and might not be the case in the end.

But firstly, I do not believe in heaven nor in hell because to me, it seems humanly impossible to narrow down a human to either being good or evil. I believe it is a part of human nature to contain both, since we have been created in a way where we are intrinsically imperfect from the moment that we breathe. We all have an ego, greed, are flawed yet also have the ability to spread selfless kindness to the ones we love. So I do not believe in separating good vs evil.

Due to this, I believe in reincarnation and that everyone partakes in reincarnation. Not in an equal amount. Some individuals have older souls than others and have lived through more lives, not necessarily in a way that makes them better than the other, but simply because they might have needed to be taught more lessons. They needed to go through more experiences in order to become their fully evolved self. At the root of this belief, I think that reincarnation is done to teach valuable lessons to the soul that can only be taught from the hardships and imperfections of the human form. Once we have evolved into the highest peak of potential and wisdom, then who knows? I think we are not meant to know that for now.

I believe that when we die we go to a place depending on what we believe, for example, if I'm a Christian, I'll go to heaven or to hell. It all depends on our vibrations and our beliefs.

if you are an atheist, I believe that you'll go where your vibration "identifies" more or stay "wandering" through the earth, but not in a disturbing and torturous way, just wandering, yk?

Sorry if it was confusing, English is not my first language so I'm using a translator to speak. :)

Exactly like where we were before we were born, you don't remember where you were or wether your soul existed before you were born or not right? That's how i believe what will happen after death, we're not conscious or probably don't exist.

I also believe we'll reincarnate or we'll stay in a dream or wandering in earth, but I don't know, the most believable one for me is non existence, exactly like before we were born

we slip out of consciousness, we don't see pitch black but we don't see anything at all

it's something we can't comprehend and the idea of it is enough to make me nauseous however when I do die I won't even be aware of it

so, after we die nothing happens you simply slip out of existence as if you're sleeping

The concept of souls is feel-good non-sense. 'We' are the sum of all chemical processes, biological processes and electrical signals in our brain. Upon brain-death, there is no more 'us'. We are simply gone.

This life is only temporary. To even consider that all of existence can be reduced down to mere material is baffling to me. There's so much we can't measure or observe as finite humans, so little that we know. It's hubris to outright deny the existence of an afterlife in my opinion with the little information we have to go off of.

What we do have other than what we can observe is the bible, which tells us quite a bit about where we go after we die. It's either eternity with God (heaven) or eternity without Him (hell).

i dont think there is even a hell or heaven because we all did smt bad or good in our lifetime so......the blackhole? i really dont know-

to be honest if we died i feel like we would just rebirth into a new person plus we wont really die die because we are still reproducing and the only way to actually kill us all would be some sort of big nuke/ worldwide riot/war or a VERY dangerous virus with no actual cure. which thoses things really happened before but we are still surviving through it all...but yea i believe we will just rebirth and restart over and over and become spirits after how many past lifes we had.

we just die. nobody thinks cats or dogs go to heaven lol. humans have an existensial crisis at the mere thought of not being able to observe the world in its current form. if our consciousnesses were truly able to live longer than our physical bodies, we'd probably go crazy just over the thought of eternity and infinity. its not something we're able to comprehend

Nowhere, we die and that's it. We don't go anywhere. The only part keeping us alive, and conscious was our brain, now that our brain is dead, we die along with it. Maybe we dream as our brain dies but who knows. But once every part of our body is dead, it's just nothing.

well for me im pretty sure its either:

reincarnation (maybe not as another human but as some energy in a tree or something boring)

christianity or other religious one (they might be real for all i know)

absolutely nothing (but not like we just sit in blackness for eternity, we wouldnt have a brain or any perception so we wouldnt know or care)

i personally think you just die and your afterlife is how you think it be, weather it be reincarnation, going to heaven, going to the purgatory, or just simply being a ghost, there are no right or wrong answers, its just what you believe in as an individual.

this is such a scary yet interesting question. i could literally think about it constantly for probably days. its so confusing and theres always loose ends and it feels like there will never be a definite answer and that makes it so hard to be ready. i do think its an important thing to think about at least once though. i often struggle with my beliefs but i like seeing what other people think. i like how people theorize so peacefully about this topic, not arguing but instead just offering ideas from different logics and backgrounds and religions. i enjoy every theory i read about it, relishing in the logic of another person's interpretation. i love seeing the true depth in which some people think about this, and the confidence in their answers.

ive most definitely found things i can understand and/or agree with, but i like to think about it more loosely. its good to remember that you have a whole life to live before you die, and there's no use fearing something that is so definite, so inevitable. i respect and admire when people have set beliefs and theories on the topic, but it's okay to let it escape your mind, to let it slip away until you really die.

Hey I'm polytheistic but tend to follow the paths of Buddhism and Christianity, I accept both Christ and Buddha into my heart, and I do believe that I have relived many lives due to reincarnation, because I was meant to learn things and grow and change over, and over again. I think that once I am finally enlightened, then I will reach heaven.

For me its always been the end.

Like just a full stop to my entire existence.

No more thoughts or feelings, just darkness.

I just disappear, like i`ve never really existed.

Not in a way that my mind is just floating around eternal darkness, but i just stop being.

Tbh i know what u mean. I try not to think about it because every time i do i cant stop thinking about it and i just think about getting older and eventually dying and then just being gone. As if my mind never really was.

I really hope someday i can believe in Life after death, otherwise i think i would die from never ending panic attacks:,D

I think that everything is possible, i like to think I that when we die, we go somewhere better, but its possible that we just end our way and just we erase our existence and there is nothing more, like we never exist and we are not so important.

We do not have enough information. We can assume this world we live in is just a fraction of whatever awaits us. An argument could be made, that our reality is designed to not let us know if there's a grand scheme of things behind. We could live in a simulation for all we know!

But that is good. There's still things to learn and discover, such as that one.

My opinion, everyone is entitled to their own, no hate!

I think there has to be something after death. The idea of living without there being anything after must lead to a painful, meaningless existence. Why would we be here if there is no afterlife? Personally I believe in God and I have faith that when I die I'll go to Heaven. Even if I cant see or talk directly with God, I trust that he/she is there. I think a world without religion would be chaotic- where would we base our morals, and who besides other people (who are no more competent than anyone else) would decide what is right and wrong? There must be a higher power.. I think life and humanity is far too beautiful to have not been designed, there is no way we are here by accident.

In Manichaeist thought, there are a few types of people. In your first lives, you will one who has heard nothing of Manichaeism and are doomed to reincarnate into the material world. Eventually, you will live a life/lives where you do hear about it, still however you will decide it is not for you and be reincarnated. You will reach a point however where you reincarnate into a lifetime where you are able to practice Manichaeism, living as a "Hearer" and taking in the teachings of the "Elect" manichaeists. Still however, you must reincarnate until you learn enough to become said Elect, using your body to seperate the light from the dark, and upon your death becoming one with the Mother of All Creation.

TLDR; Evangelion Human instrumentality except with reincarnation until we all unite.
