So, you've stumbled upon this niche little site known as SpaceHey, thought it looked pretty neat, and even introduced yourself. That's pretty swell, but now you've stumbled upon the Group section and found this lil' thread and ask yourself; what's an e-fed? Or maybe you've clicked off by now. Either or works as an opportunity for me to explain to you this wild and wonderful hobby for writers, wrestling fans, and internet users alike!
While there's a whole set of fanwikis, blogs, forums, and threads about the history of e-feds, one thing's for certain; they've been around for decades. Professional Wrestling hit a boom in the 80s, and saw it's height in popularity in the late 90s with the World Wrestling Federation's "Attitude Era" that saw the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Kane, all make an impact. Every kid wanted to be a wrestler at that time, and when their parents said "no", it was time to turn to their computers and log in to beat up some make believe jabronis.
The SHW's goal is to rekindle that fire for anyone that had a stint in the hobby, or maybe even introduce others to it.
E-Fedding is simple. Depending on the federation you're interested in, you may be required to either create a completely new professional wrestler, or select a real life competitor. For this example, we'll say you just joined the SHW. Let's say you chose William Regal. Sure, he's not what you think of when it comes to a "World Champion", but he's someone I enjoy. I suggest selecting someone that you enjoy, know a great deal about, and can easily promo as, at least for your first character. After selecting a wrestler, you'd be booked in a match on a bi-weekly event. So for example, you're booked on "Show Name" vs. someone playing Gregory Helms in a Singles Match. This guy who's been playing Gregory Helms is on a roll, having two straight wins against someone's Shelton Benjamin and someone's Jimmy Jacobs, this dude rules! Here you are, a newbie, and it's your debut. You notice something though about this Gregory Helms player, his grammar is pretty bad, but his previous oppenents didn't even try! Lucky for you, you want to give it your all, so you post a nice roleplay with decent grammar, some spiffy colored text, and you write Regal pretty accurately.
Essentially, the winner of a match depends on who had the better roleplay. It's very subjective as to what makes a good roleplay, and in some cases, it's downright impossible, but for this example, Regal had the better roleplay. When it comes time, the owner of the fed will post a show. The show has the results, plus any storyline elements. These results are usually descriptive matches that show off your wrestler's skills and advances a storyline.
What is your goal? Anything you want! Want to form a tag team to take the tag titles home? Go for it. Want to make Val Venis a world champion? Good luck, but hey, it's possible! Maybe you want to be Vampiro and face The Undertaker?! The possiblities are endless! If you have any more questions like this, message Mr. Money!
1. Only two wrestlers per-handler. A tag team is considered one wrestler. Real wrestlers & Created Superstars are allowed, however, there are certain exceptions to this. Any wrestler who has comitted a serious felony, I.E. murder, sexual assault, etc, are banned. This includes Chris Benoit, Jimmy Snuka, etc. This is a case by case situation, but should it come up, please understand why. Said banned superstars are unable to be used as pic-bases for created superstars.
2. Adhere to SpaceHey's rules. Don't overdue the swearing in roleplays. Keep it TV-14 as a general guideline. The occasional slip of the tongue is alright, just don't abuse it.
3. Whining, complaining, it'll be handled accordingly on a three strike rule.
4. To submit your roleplays, please reply to the thread with your match listed before the given deadline. Should you need an extension or know you can't make it, message a mod and everything'll be alright. If you'll be gone for a long period of time and want to keep your superstar, please post an LOA notice, and you superstar will be held for a single month. After that, they're free for the taking. For created superstars, this doesn't effect them, outside of their pic-base.
5. Plagerisim is an instant ban from the fed.
6. You can submit segments for upcoming shows via PM to the show runner, Mr. Money. If you're looking for a storyline or feel out of the loop, message me privately and we'll get you settled right away.
Rules are subject to change!
