Knitters/Crocheters/Yarn People

Looking to see if people are interested in discussing this topic here. Someone started another thread in the Arts and Photography forum section. I posted a suggested to the spacehey forum subcategory about creating a Makers/Hobbies/Crafting subgroup since there so many kinds of makers out there.  Would people want to discuss items made to wear here? I'm curious.

That's cool! I know there are other yarn people in the art and photography crocheted/knitters forum topic. But I'm glad you found your way to my posting. I wish there was a topic of making because it isn't just fashion, it's home goods, accessories, dolls, pattern writing and testing. So many cool things can be done with fiber craft!

I think once the fiber art community gets established here it will be a huge section!   I'm a shepard, spinner/weaver/knitter/crocheter/felter. Right now I'm sort of obsessed with getting some crochet items done. I even went and bought some of those ergonomic hooks, after my first project in November with a standard one. Sooo much better with a special hook!

A hobbies sub group is a great idea! I finished crocheting my first sweater last week and it was a bust. I’d love to see what others have made so I can get some inspiration!

Ada, I'm so sorry that your first sweater was a bust! I was so nervous when I went into my first knitted sweater project! I used yarn from Michael's because I was fearful of spending a lot of money on a very nice yarn for it (it called for a decent amount of bulky weight $$$) only for it to not fit right/be too small. I knit the right size for me and I guess my gauge was big because it ended up being very roomy!

I tend to use crochet for like blankets and house stuff like towels and pillows. I just haven't come across any plus-size sweaters in crochet that I like, plus that method uses more yarn than knitting per stitch.

Don't give up of making garments though, if you need any pointers feel free to drop me a message!

Count me IN. There is seldom a time when I am not knitting or crocheting something.

I started crocheting a bit ago, I’m trying to make some gloves for myself! A crafters/makers forum would be super cool
