This is a thread for posting some of your favorite albums/tracks.

I'll go first!!

Aphex Twin - Drukqs

This is my favorite release by Aphex Twin and probably my favorite album of all time. I can't really put into words why I enjoy it so much, but the combination of the slow paced prepared piano tracks (Jynweythek Ylow, Petiatil Cx Htdui, Ruglen Holon) and the face melting rapid drill n' bass tracks (Mt. Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount, Taking Control, Ziggomatic 17)
is certainly a highlight of electronic music for me. I feel that not many people understand just how great this album is and sort of skip over it when listening to Aphex Twin.

Here's a Norwegian alt-rock classic

It's a very nice debut album. I really like just the sound and feel of the album. It often crosses tastefully into blues territory, and Sivert Høyem's voice is just something out of this world.

Listening to Drukqs in the car on a foggy day between autumn & winter, with frosted out surroundings but no snow and dead trees in all kinds of shapes made that one for me

I usually only listen to music while I'm programming and my go to recently has been Odesza! It's calming and clears the mind.

one of my favourite albums of all time is Loveless by My Bloody Valentine (sadly it's not on Spotify in  the UK :(((((().

The entire album is just like a warm, fuzzy hug from your favorite person and as someone who has been away from their partner for almost ten painful months, it really has been a staple for me since February.

The calm vocals blend perfectly with the swirling guitars and I absolutely love it <3

One of my favorite albums is the self-titled album by The All-American Rejects.

It's an emo pop-punk album, which makes use of church organs, christmas bells and orchestra parts in some of the songs. Lyrics deal with the typical teenage themes of heartache caused by relationships, but with catchy tunes, almost as if they're supposed to make you happy.

Personally this album gives me a positive small-town vibe. It's great for casual car rides, road trips, and useful for introducing people to rock music. This album is really creative in the emo and pop-punk scene.

One of my favourite albums of all time is Worlds by Porter Robinson. There are a lot beautiful songs in here that helped me go through some hard times, and it has inspired me with the direction I want to take with my own music as well.

But well, if it wasn't for Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites by Skrillex, I wouldn't have fell in love with electronic music to begin with. It actually motivated me to dive into other electronic acts as well, such as deadmau5, Daft Punk, Madeon, etc.

The internet has helped me to get into some interesting music as well, with Blank Banshee 0 by Blank Banshee one of the albums that would get me into Vaporwave and other forms of "Internet Music".

I'm also a bit of a Hip-Hop head, I wouldn't have become one if it wasn't for Kanye West of course, with Graduation and The Life Of Pablo the two albums that got me into his work.

I'm a weeb, so I also listen to a bunch of J-Pop, specially comming from the Love Live! franchise. Just believe!!! by Nijigasaki High School Idol Club if probably one of my favourite albums of the year. I think they really went a bit more adventurous than usual when it comes to song themes, performances, arrangements, etc. Even the let-downs had its interesting touches to it.

Recently I've been listening to Bury Me At Makeout Creek by Mitski over and over. This is kind of sad, indie rock.

I also started getting into King Krule's music through Hey World! which is a compilation of lower fidelity tracks off of his new album Man Alive!. King Krule is alt/indie and sings with a thick accent that I wasn't super fond of at first, but I grew to really like it.

My favorite band of all time is by far Car Seat Headrest. My favorite album of theirs, Twin Fantasy, tells the story of a young adult learning to grow up through the lens of a relationship that is slowly falling apart, and it is beautiful and heartwrenching every time I listen to it. However, their other albums are also so amazing and capture so many different feelings so well.

I'm pretty into a lot of Myspacecore revival lately, If I Die First, The Callous Daoboys, Static Dress and so forth. It's a really good time for that kinda music making a comeback. Side note I really want to be able to link my Last.FM to my profile, I hope they add it to the links section at some point!

But some others I've discovered in the past year(s) that I think are pretty cool:

Jump Rope Gazers by The Beths
Paperbacks by Arlo Parks
Seilu by Blonde Tongues
Melancholia by Tribulation

I have a bunch of comprehensive spotify playlists... if anyone's into that. lmk :)
