i like b1.7.3, it has just enough stuff to let me be all creative, but such little stuff that it forces me to use what i have to make a good looking house or something. and the lighting system, the healing system, world generation, just everything is perfect.

i think that 1.16 was objectively the best one the game has gotten in a very very long time... but man the hype i felt when 1.4 came out, that might be my personal fav so far...

I distinctly remember the day that the Xbox 360 edition received the update which brought in villager trading for the first time! I thought the emerald was such a cool new addition! The emerald block was, especially back then, quite the luxury item!

some of my PC favorites are beta 1.7.3 (which i would really love to have a full playthrough with), 1.6 (horses), and 1.17-1.18 (caves & cliffs pt1/2, before completely underwhelming versions like the wild update). my least favorite addition are villagers and pillagers, i think it detracts from the introspective and isolated feel of the game & also disrupts the balancing a ton.
for console, it's probably around TU30 before bountiful update content like granite/andesite/diorite, which is around when i first played the game and includes my favorite tutorial world from TU19.
could also be right around when minigames & realms were added to xbox one edition, which is still the version i have the most hours on (1468 vs 998 on windows 10 edition vs probably around the same on modern java edition versions as they released).

Honestly, 1.12.2, cause as great as the flattening is, it did cause many, many, many good mods to drop out, and after that, the remaining ones changed into a very different style that I just don't really like, you know? Worldedit pre-flattening sucks tho

i feel like the game’s big resurgence was 1.16.
it was such a big update and i feel like it got so many people back into the game, especially youtubers and the popularity of the dream smp throughout covid
it also just included a lot of really good mechanics giving more of a meaning to the nether with the biomes and netherite.
no other minecraft updates seem to have as much in them since 1.16 and minecraft needs to do more with dimensions as they seem to be playing it too safe and not really changing the game by adding much in recent updates that’s actually useful.

1.7.10 or 1.8.6 The mod packs written for those versions were soooo insane like Feed The Beast. Never had more fun and been more addicted to minecraft in my life.
Now that microsoft has stolen my property from me (my minecraft account) and installed virus backdoors into the game, there is only bloxd.io for me now which is a far cry from the glory days of minecraft, but still fun.

hehe for me it was DEFINTELY 1.16 . it was the midst of 2020 aswell so EVERYONE was playing it . it was the first update to add a unique disk from c14s collection and have it a biome exclusive disk too . and it made the nether so kewl !!! and new armour aswell and building blocks and new ways to obtain items . all and all it was a huge update that fully revamped the nether for the better and its awsomsauce !

title update 19 on ps3 2014 where it added horse and fireworks and a bunch of othet stuff that I already knew was coming out in the update which is why I literally stayed up waiting for my game to update, I shit u not I kept resetting it over and over like a maniac I was so excited and sleep deprived, when it updated I played with everything in this cool desert lab villager testing thing I made to look like dantdm's lab, it had a burger king near it with a drive thru lol. after like 2-3 hours I finally went to sleep.

my favourite, for a long time, was the aquatic update, which was the final major update for legacy console edition (ps3 in this case). i eventually grew to hate it though, as drowneds were a pain in my back time and time again. i'd say my favourite would have to be the nether update where they added nether biomes and new mobs. even though the old nether is nostalgic, i think that what the nether update brought to the game was something else, and one of the most interesting not-too-bad updates.

Honestly? Im a big fan of the most recent copper update, For the longest time copper was the most useless ore in the game when it was first added back in like 2018 with the Caves & Cliffs update. It makes me happy to see it finally be given some actual purpose in the vanilla game even if copper tools and armor aren't all that great. I also love Copper Golems lol. I like copper can you tell?
