i was professionally dx-ed at 16 years old, but i definitely had suspicions before hand lolol 

I got professionally diagnosed a bit before turning 16, but started suspecting I might have autism around a year before the diagnosis!

My family are sensitive about this and think it’s related to mental illness so they haven’t got diagnosed yet but from what I’ve been researching so far, I’m definitely autistic with comorbid ADHD cause all the traits are showing:(

I was diagnosed at 1 years old. My mom noticed I wasn't speaking when I should and they thought I was deaf at first.

Age 8-ish! I remember it somewhat decently. I was eating Swedish Fish candy in the waiting room, and then this lady came in and brought me to a dark room. She gave me a bunch of puzzles, asked me questions, etc. I was easily annoyed by adult strangers, and was pretty grumpy the whole time, until she asked me to make a story with action figures. I told the Norse mythology human creation myth, haha. Saw the tree props and went off. Got the results pretty quickly.

I got diagnosed when I was 10 im now 16

like a month ago, at 16. a year ago when i told my dad that my therapist had recommended i seek a diagnosis (bc she couldn't give it herself), he just said "oh yea that makes sense". it can make me so mad that i was always labeled "shy" and "discreet", and no one thought to look a little deeper into it and offer help until much too late. i do feel really lucky to even have gotten it in the first place! :)

i've known for a few years that i'm autistic, but i got formerly diagnosed last october (i guess i'm a week away from my one year anniversary of getting diagnosed! celebration confetti confetti happiness!) it's really made my life a lot easier to live and get access to the help that i need to function :)

It’s kinda funny because when I got diagnosed at 13, my therapist asked my mom if she wanted to get a report written but my mom wanted to wait then the place got raided by the cops for drugs because the owner was distributing them. Not my therapist!

I got self diagnosis when I was 16 and nobody believed me!but now i'm 19 and I finally got my official diagnosis yayy!!!

I'm not yet diagnosed, but I've done extensive research and talked with other people online, and... May God strike me down if I'm not autistic, or at least on the spectrum   I'm 13 rn :0

I got diagnosed at 18 but I knew I was autistic from about 15 when I started doing research on it

I'm currently 15, I never was told when j got diagnosed but I got told that I have autism in 2 grade 

I found out when I was 13 ish, mostly because an autistic friend of mine had asked me this same question of "when were you diagnosed?" I had to just awkwardly stand there and say I wasn't. They then recommended I look into it HEAVILY. I did, researched for over a year, came to the conclusion I was and talked to my mom about it. Unfortunately our insurance doesn't cover autism diagnoses so I have to say self diagnosed and peer reviewed till I get my own kind of insurance.

I remember going to therapy type sessions at a facility that dealt mainly in autism back then and that’s how I was diagnosed.

hey there!! i was (sorta?) professionally diagnosed earlier this year and self dx'ed this year as well but i had this feeling abt myself dating back to middle school (im 19 now) :))))

I found out and self-diagnosed myself at around 11 or 12 and ended up getting diagnosed professionally at 15. :D

I pretty much always knew, both of my eldest brothers are autistic. I was misdiagnosed with ADHD when I was about 12 so I knew something was up, plus around 16 my parents said “Well I wouldn’t be suprised if you were autistic” and from there I was like okay so it’s confirmed 

i loosely self-dxed around 16, stopped thinking/caring about it, and then got surprised with a formal diagnosis at 18 after comprehensive testing

well im 16 now but ive been researching autism for about 4 years now and i suspected i might have it but tbh i thought i was just faking it you know? Until i met a friend who there mom was a psychologist and confirmed it to me but informally cuz in my country if i got like formally diagnosed it would probably ruin my life Job-wise. but yeah

maybe when i was about 14  i think. im 17 now and will soon be getting a professional essesment!

i started researching and having doubts at around 18 years old, and after a few months of researched and seeing a specialised psychologist, i was diagnosed at 20 years old in September of 2023! It's been over a year now, and i finally accept myself more now :)

when i was assessed for ADHD when i was 10 years old, they also tested me for autism.

they said i only had some symptoms, but not enough for a diagnosis, despite it being very very obvious. 10yos cant mask too well lmao

later, when i was about 16 or 17, i finally got my diagnosis. i suppose they didnt want to give me a proper diagnosis back then because im a girl, idk

I'm 30 years old now and doing better than ever now that I have answers. I am able to make accommodations for myself and give myself a lot more grace than I used to give myself prior to my discovery. I used to carry so much shame about my autistic traits, specifically meltdowns and special interests. Now that I understand what causes my meltdowns they happen less frequently. And now I'm less afraid to be open about my special interests. I am not seeking formal dx at this point because it's a scary time to be disabled in the US. Eventually I would like to seek a formal dx but for right now I'm okay being self-discovered.

My mom told me I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when I was about 2 or 3 years old. She didn't really tell me much about it, so I wasn't aware I had it and thought of myself as just being weird and different from most kids. It wasn't until my best friend (now girlfriend) pointed out certain behaviors that I had coincided with people with Asperger's too. I asked my mom and sure enough, she told me all about it. That was when I was 17.

After a talk with my ex-therapist and research over several months/years, i self diagnosed in 2023 (at age 23). Currently trying to find the energy to find an assesment center, which i dont have to pay by myself (its pretty hard ugh).

13 when I realized ( self- diagnosed) though around when I was six or seven I had a family doctor recommend me for a screening but my mom didn't go through with it for whatever reason 

I self diagnosed when I was 17 in May or June 2023. I'm still trying to convince my parents to get me a therapist so I can get an official diagnosis. (I have a few friends who have an official diagnosis and they all say I have all the traits)

got diagnosed when i was almost three years old (back in 2007). I'm glad my parents noticed it while i was young

i think ive passively known since i was a little kid, but it's honestly just been within the past couple years (around when i hit 18) that i realized i was probably autistic. discussed it with other autistic people, took the rads-r test, did heaps and heaps of research about it, took my family history into account and everything. im not sure if ill ever get an official diagnosis, because i dont find it personally all that important, but i am most definitely autistic and definitely have been my whole life lol

i dxed myself around 19 or 20 when i started doing research on it and my friends were like "yeah bro you're probs autistic" and i was like Damn. so yeah.

roughly at 19 i suspected it and i got the popular vote (all my neurodivergent friends told me i am autistic) also did a LOT of tests online and all came out positive so now at 21 i know i am autistic lol
