I'm absolutely hopeless. The only thing that's working right now is the background, I suck at CSS

i figured out gradients in css, as well as borders!

https://www.w3schools.com/css/css3_gradients.asp this is quite a nice tutorial for adding them, as well as https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_colors.asp a list of colors + how to use them in posts.

as for the borders, this https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_border.asp tutorial from w3 helped too! together, they've both made my profile look super nice ^w^

My background USED to look pretty cool, but the comments stretch it out a lot and I'm too lazy to fix the CSS on it. Still, I'm kind of proud of my new retro mall aesthetic :)

Hey All,

Check out my profile page, I've got a live video playing in my background of the ISS. Also managed to get a standard CSS file of the different elements in the foreground and how to change the text and color of those containers. If anyone needs help, don't hesitate to message me.

^___^

Doctor, the video won't play because it can't be interacted with as a background and I think this site stops autoplaying content.

Personally, my favorite thing is knowing about CSS animations, which either weren't a thing back when I used myspace before, or I just didn't know about them. You can do some wild stuff.

My entire profile tbh. I had to heavily modify existing code and add borders myself. It took me 2 days to finish.

I never coded my old myspace profile, but I found some youtube videos that helped a ton.

here is the one I followed:

And this guy is what helped her make the video. In the one I sharing he even made an editor you can use to see in real time the changes you make to your profile. Then when you are done you just copy and past it!:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5VDi1PcXgE&t=196s

These two things have seriously helped me make my page super personal. With a lot of trial and error it has come together for sure. Had to look up other things like the custom cursors, but with some research it's pretty easy once you do it. Hope this helps everyone!

My biggest victory right now is breaking apart everything in the "main" div into a CSS grid so I can move things around where I want them. I haven't spent a lot of time on aesthetics yet so my page looks a bit like hot garbage, but I'm calling this a victory.

I added randomly selected backgrounds using a little trick to generate css with php on my own web server. I also brought in data from one of my APIs with the same technique as I couldn't embed from my own site. And If that wasn't enough imported bootstrap and changed the container width and fonts of the entire page along with using the components of the framework.

getting really good at css really fast. i had done some css before but then stopped and when i started spacehey i didnt watch any tutorials. instead i tested my layouts every time i made a big change using one of those testing layout websites. i just copy pasted stuff and clicked inspect on every element on a page which made it easy to see why my code wasnt working. i also copy pasted the things i wanted from other layouts people made and i use my finished layouts as a starting template instead of deleting everything when im done. so if you wanna get good fast do this ig. i impressed myself

vertically aligning the container box. I used to have it "centered" by using margins, but it only worked for a specific screen resolution. Now it looks fine on most screens. Also, i've learned to use @media rule and made my layout more accessible for mobile :D

made profile from scratch! I generally love making profiles extra pretty haha. Especially the layout turned out cool to me. I do wanna improve my tiny art section. want to display it more nicely on my profile rather than the simple open-on-click I currently have. gonna mess around some more.

Also happy with the animations. I don't want it too look messy and all over the place, a few simple animations and effects here and there are nice :)

Even though I did HTML/JS/CSS at college and wrote my bands website (RIPPINGDEXD.COM BTW) from scratch, layouts are kicking my arse!

Ended up having to adapt someone else's layout, hardest bit was getting font files to work
