Adam Silvera's books ''they both die at the end'' and ''the first to die at the end'' have gay or bi characters at least. You have probably heard of those bcs the books are so popular. I can't come up with anything else right now but these were the first that came to my mind since I read those a while ago

"Summer in a Pioneer Tie" (LVPG) is a novel co—written by Elena Malisova and Katerina Silvanova. The book is dedicated to the relationship between two young men, pioneer Jura and counselor Volodya, who met at a pioneer camp in the summer of 1986.

I don't know for sure if this book is in English, but I've read it in Russian. I advise everyone who wants to get to the Soviet era pioneer times

I wrote nine books, with several LGTBQ characters from two married male characters to a very drawn out progression of two female lead characters. There's no spice if that's what you want. There have been openly gay side characters, a trans woman and a closeted gay man as a side character as well.

While at one point obstacle faced by same aex parents is addressed as is bigotry in general those are sub plots incidental to the main story. As in while dealing with growing influence of a Russian mob boss on her family the main character was forced to deal with bigotry at her daughter's school type of thing.

I generally do not try to market them as LGTBQ books as sexual orientation is never their defining trait they are just people who have that aspect about them and it's not central to the story, just incidental... the talented drummer just happened to be gay sort of thing.

Again I don't market my books based on there being LGTBQ characters but they are definitely LGTBQ friendly, Religious bigots actually become the villian in later novels and the bigotry is in your face bad but... viloians never win.

Excuse poor spelling here without glasses I can barely see my phone to proof read

I’m not sure if anyone has recommended it, but The Song of Achilles is really great! The novel focuses on Achilles' friendship and love with Patroclus, following their bond from childhood through the Trojan War. I highly recommend it :)

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone suggest this yet, but the Wayfarers series is so cozy and beautiful if you like sci-fi. Even if you don't...just read it. Trust.

Lily and Dunkin is a book abount a teenaged trans girl realizing she's trans and grappling with coming out to her family and school!! (and about a young boy with bipolar disorder adapting to his new town and learning to love himself, and make friends). The characters are in 8th grade, so it's on the younger end of a coming of age and self discovery sort of story.

☆Priory of The Orange Tree and the series in general (Roots of Chaos) is full of lgbtq characters, it's epic fantasy with big stakes, amazing world building and there's no homophobia plot beyond the "rulers must have an heir"

It tackles important subjects like the rewriting of history, fear of intimacy, women being overshadowed by their ability to bear children, child loss, and best of all, the prequel A Day of Fallen Night features a middle-aged lesbian couple, which I don't see a lot (they're my favourite characters)

☆This Is How You Lose The Time War is about the war between the factions of the past and future, the 2 main characters are from opposite sides and move through different timelines to tip them in their favour but seem to somehow always find each other

This was a surreal read and can be confusing in the first chapters but sooooo worth it for time travelling girlfriends

☆Girl, Serpent, Thorn is a persian fairy tale about a cursed princess and her fight to learn how and why she was cursed and how to break free of it, our protagonist is bisexual and for most of the book her romantic interest is a man but she ends up with a woman by the end, this is a young adult fantasy but I loved it when I read this book 5 years ago

☆If We Were Villains, just homoerotic vibes through the book, culminating in the end, theater uni students take theater too seriously, this is the only book in the list with gay male characters

☆Wilder Girls, an all-girls school is infected with a disease that kills men, but mutates women, we follow 3 girls as one is taken for scientific studies, and the two left try to find her and manage their feelings for each other, this book has gore and body horror descriptions so beware if you don't like that!

These are just the books I've read, and I've enjoyed all of them!!
