vivid dreams

so ever since i was young i have had very vivid dreams. I mean so vivid when i woke up i was convinced it actually happened. even more strange is that some dreams that i do have actually happen. also one of my dreams in particular in a way predicted the future, my high school boyfriend had a younger brother and it had been  two or three years since the highschool boyfriend and i split and i was pregnant at the time but one night i had a dream about the younger brother running up to me crying and saying he didnt feel good and his head hurt and again was just so vivid and it felt real. i woke up the next day with such an odd feeling but i just blamed pregnacy brain and such, latter that night i got a call from my mom saying that the younger brother was at work and fell to the floor and had a stroke. i was in complete shock. 

has anyone else delt with this? or have any vivid dreams? anyone no why they happen?
