Who else still browses Newgrounds?

Newgrounds, along with Miniclip and Stickdeath were my go to sites for entertainment back in the day. I'm glad Newgrounds has stayed mostly true to it's original form.

I had no idea Newgrounds was still up and running, until I saw some kids talking about a DDR-like rhythm game called Friday Night Funkin'? When they said "Newgrounds" I took a double-take because I was sure that site wasn't around anymore. I think it's cool that these types of games are still somewhat popular.

Yeah... I thought Newgrounds closed their doors. Everyone was trying to back up the flash games on there.

It's rare when I visit but I still do once in a while. I just browse and never look for anything in specific.

I remember browsing Newgrounds when I was little. I used to always search for Sonic related content because I was a cringy little kid lol

But I still discover really cool animations that people create and always wanted to do the same someday.

I do, but Newgrounds got raided by normies. Just go on the "undiscovered" section on the art page.

Well it's unsurprising, considering that Tom Fulp and the supporters are trying their best to keep the site up and to prevent them having ads from the website. And I also use Newgrounds to upload some of my music. Newgrounds also have some new games despite flash being defunct.

Newgrounds is one of the very few big oldschool sites that has managed to survive without selling out, but as someone who's been active on NG since the sites inception, the community has been changing for the worse these last few years IMO.

Ever since the Tumblr porn ban rolled out back in 2018, the site became flooded with Tumblr users who made demands for changes on a community and site functionality level, and then proceeded to fuck off to Twitter in the end anyway after irreversibly damaging the community. The thing that's really killing the site ATM though is the massive wave of underage users that came in with the FNF stuff last year. A lot of the higher quality creative content from NG natives has been drowned under piles of low-quality/low-effort DeviantArt-tier content, and the frontpage is dominated by that trademark Tumblr style of artwork as of late. This isn't even mentioning the fact that the NGBBS has become borderline unusable thanks to all of the FNF threads, horny threads, and drama threads that keep popping up from the 2021 sign-up date accounts who treat the place like Twitter.

I'm not saying NG is all bad, because it isn't. Tom is a great guy who runs the site to the best of his ability (and does a great job of it, might I add) and great, high quality content still comes out of NG on a daily basis, but it definitely isn't without its own unique set of problems.
