while im not super big on gore sometimes, saw II is least in my top 5; scream is also an absolute classic-- i almost always rewatch it for halloween (~ ̄▽ ̄)~ halloween III may not be like the first two movies whatsoever, but i think its a great time on its own !!

Mine is definitely IT (1990). It may not be the most popular, but something about the environment and general atmosphere really strikes something in me. Also, Tim Curry ROCKS that Pennywise look.

Might be a little too modern but I love I Saw the Devil. Its a great Korean action/thriller but I consider it a horror just bc of how scary it really is and what it does with tragic loss and revenge. Such a great watch:)

*American Mary (2012) Not only does it have the Katharine Isabelle, it's probably the only gore-laden movie i've been able to stomach. Mary is a sympathetic and tragic villain protagonist.
*May (2002) Starring Angela Bettis, it's a story about a very lonely young woman who slowly loses what humanity she had. It's honestly sad all around.
*Secret Window (2004) It's a horror/thriller with Johnny Depp, an alcoholic writer in the middle of a messy divorce when John Turturro comes to his doorstep, accusing him of plagiarism. It's all downhill from there, but lots of corn!
*The Ginger Snaps triology. Two teenage sisters' coming of age story gets hijacked by werewolves. The first and third movies could be watched as stand-alones, but for the full experience, watch all three!
*Carrie (2002) starring Angela Bettis again, this is a made for TV movie, and i personally think it's better than the '70s version, it feels more raw and realistic.
*Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) directed by Kenneth Branagth and starring Robert DeNiro as the most realistic and human Frankenstein put to screen. It's a little over two hours, tho. So, buckle up!
