It might just might be Texas chainsaw massacre, the 1974 version ofc. I love it, its gruesome but not in like slasher way, you have to wait for the kills. But a close one is the IT movies, i actually have the book, so i love to see how they numbed down some of the work in the novel, i like to analyisd them.

John Carpenter's 'The Thing', to me it feels like a really smart film, which isn't something I find in most horror media

The Thing. I've only seen the early 2000's one so far but i plan on watching all the others. Body horror is, in my opinion, the best kind of horror cus it twists the human perspective of the possibilities of ones self

Mine is undoubtedly Unfriended: Dark Web; I just love how it is different from all other movies by it being all on a computer's screen! Like how cool is that?!

Savageland (2015). It is an interesting take on a zombie movie.
A small, isolated town becomes an epicenter of a zombie outbreak, that wipes out entire population in one night.
What we get to see, is an epilogue, when people try to piece together what happened this night. Collecting evidence, interviewing the only witness and pulling out wildest strawmans possible, trying to blame the groups they hate, in order to get rational explanation to what has happened.
The only scares we get are (pretty eerie) photos and amateur reenaction of some events, so a lot of it is left to our imagination.
That might be the scariest part.

Scream is definitely top of the list but Hellraiser will forever be my favorite. The reimagining of it was pretty good too.
I’m a sucker for A24 horror though, Hereditary and Midsommer were fantastic.
It Follows is severely underrated, adore that one.

Trick r' treat. It taught me to stay away from a group of girls cause they could be werewolves (joking, lol).
Okay, seriously. My favorite is Nosferatu, the classic one. It didn't scare me when I watched it but I was more so impressed. For it's time, it was really inventive and, dare I say, ahead of it's time.

Я думаю, что фильм ужасов «Молчание ягнят» — мой любимый хоррор, хотя его сложно назвать ужасом

i NEED to say Texas Chainsaw Massacre, its quite psychological even for a slasher, and doesn't really have gore or any blood, but it still manages to make you say "DAMN"

Not exactly a horror movie, but it is the scariest thing I've ever watched; ''Johnny got his gun''
That movie still keeps me awake at night, months after I've last watched it.
It's on YouTube btw.

My top picks would have to be... any of the conjuring movies, scream, jigsaw, and the grudge!

It's so hard to choose a favourite!!! The Shining is my all-time favourite classic. However, anything by Robert Eggers automatically falls into my favourite category, especially The Witch and The Lighthouse.
His recent Nosferatu film is wonderful. Imo, the hate mostly came from people who;
A) didn't read the original book
B) forgot that the original was terrifying and INSANELY scandalous for the year it was written in
C) Struggle to appreciate and recognise the foundations which built the horror genre.
Edit: I also wanted to add Creep and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum as my favourite found footage films.

I don't watch much horror anymore, I've lost my hyper fixation with it for now but until I start exploring more it DEF has to be any Child's Play movie or anything with Art the Clown in it.
Child's Play just feeds the fear that people all across the world have and it's funny but also terrifying because why fuel the flame?
Then Art movies have no filter whatsoever. There's blood and gore and actual horror. Unlike some movies nowadays. Some movies now barely show any blood but I guess that's also because everyone is getting softer and whatnot.
