my favorite traditional horror movie lately has been the scary stories to tell in the dark movie adaptation, i love how faithful they were to stephen gammell's illustrations!
but my heart will always belong to found footage horror, and my favorite from that category has to go to noroi: the curse. i've been meaning to watch the director's other works which i hear are in a similar vien!

Blair witch project. I feel like the found footage genre can be used to great effect, especially with todays society completely focused on the internet. Nobody really talks about found footage anymore and I think that's probably because of cashgrabs like paranormal activity. Such a shame.

My top three are probably Juon: the Grudge (2002), The shining, and sleepaway camp (if you can even consider it a scary movie lmao)

Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) is the pentacle of cinema perfection to me. It's my favorite movie of all time in general. If it's a housework day, I'll keep it on repeat for background noise.
Just everything about it -- the vibe, the freakiness, the use of real roadkill in the set, grandpa. If the movie is similar to TCM, imma be in the front motherfuckin seat! (probably why I also adore House of 1,000 Corpses so much)
And it's not horror, but I'd love to meet more John Waters fans -- Desperate Living is my favorite of his films.

I really liked Hell House LLC, which has some very valid criticism against it, but I also have a soft spot from that early 2000s movie, Stay Alive. A killer video game? Sign me up.

unpopular pick but mines dead silence (¬ºཀ°)¬ i just love the haunted house, paranormal and ventriloquist themes. It's a little cheesy, but its a classic 2000s horror movie (imo, the 2000s did it best, besides the OG classics)
