Scream is such a classic. Not sure I could pick one favorite, but Halloween and Poltergeist are both top of the list.

mine would probably be Horns. while it wasn't scary for most of the movie, i thought the story was interesting to follow.

If you count the 1954 movie gojira a horror, then it's that. If not, then I'll probably have to say Return of the living dead.

Phantom of The Paradise! It's not like a SCARY horror movie but it's so cool and I have been obsessed with it since I was 12.

Honestly, The Shining just makes me so happy whenever I watch it. The music, the cinematography? Mmm so good.

God... The Saw movies, Texas Chainsaw (not massacre, its one of the sequels,) and Cabin In The Woods. Also like 3/5 of the Final Destination movies

The Changeling (1980) with George C. Scott is my favorite to recommend to folks. Well built suspense without a reliance on jump scares or gore. Slow, steady, unnerving. Underrated horror classic.
