It sounds weird but looking at those lists made me realize for how big the internet is...people don't use it. They overwork the social media aspects of it (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) only for SO MUCH of the appeal to completely fly under the radar.
Some of that I found interesting, some of it was just random shit that, even by random shit standards, was complete shit. I also encountered some fascist shit on those sites which...nearly had me running back to those 4 I just mentioned with my arms outstretched (I'm not going to...I prefer SpaceHey to ANY of those social media sites - they perpetuate that mentality by algorithm).
I also want to share two of my own personal sites that I use. If you're still using Google...try Ecosia instead. Its a search engine where for every 45 searches you make, a tree is planted in a place that needs it. Yes, this is real. Yes, it works. I have been using it for about a year and a half by now and I can't actually tell the difference between the two (in terms of how simple it is to search and find - thats all I mean). So...why not change from Google?
The other is a lot more niché but in the mid 1990s, David Bowie and Brian Eno worked together on an album called Outside and to get ideas for song lyrics, Bowie would usually cut up words and sentences, changing the meaning and thus "that'd be interesting for a song." For that album, he went from doing it with newspaper and magazines to a website called the Verbasizer. Yes, Bowie made one of the first word randomizers on the internet. The original no longer exists but a fan recreation of it does. What you would use this for, I don't know, however use it you can (also, you get no prizes for successfully guessing what my favourite David Bowie album is).

Odysee, is by far the best alternative to YouTube I've found, you earn in LBRY (a cryptocurrency) you don't get demonetized for saying words like "porn" "violence" and you only get banned for actually doing illegal stuff like doxxing, CP, uploading copyrighted material and stuff that's common sense: https://odysee.com/

I keep forgetting about it (and I'm not sure it's 100% on-topic here), but there's the big list of small web services maintained by Alex Wennerberg of flounder.online fame. Hope this helps!

Found another couple of them:
- 32-bit Cafe is an online community that also publishes guides and other resources
- The Small Web is more of an introduction to the topic, with motivations, advice and pointers
They don't look like much at first, but I spent a surprising amount of time on both sites last evening. Hope this helps.

Unless I missed it, I don't see Useful Interweb listed, so I'm just going to add it here. I have this as my home page and it updated daily until it abruptly stopped in April.
