Can You Really Forgive If You Can't Forget?

I don't think you should forget, but I now accept that you can forgive someone even if you can’t forget how they’ve wronged you. Maybe mistakes in the past happen to make us better. What do you think?

Not everyone deserves forgiveness in the first place but you most definitely can forgive but not forgive. I've found that you can forgive someone by understanding that they didn't mean harm and/or will do different. You don't have to forget whatever they did but being understanding with them can help. Of course this is different for everyone and being understanding doesn't fit into every situation.

It depends on the reason why you don't forget. You must examine you're heart why you don't want to forget. Also if you're not going to forget, you'll never move on and forgive. Forgetting is part of forgiving.
