For me, it was Windows 3.1. It was 1994, and my parents' business needed a computer for accounting and inventory management. They had one built, a true FULL tower (like, a 3' tall case), with a 486. It ran 3.1 and Corel WordPerfect for word processing, and I think it may have used an early version of Quickbooks. Since I was the young, tech savvy one in the family, it was my job to be their IT. In a couple of years we needed to upgrade it, which I did with the help of a friend, to an AMD based system running Windows 95.

What was the first version of Windows you used, when it was still current?

I remember being 4 or maybe a bit younger and we had an old beige Gateway computer that was running Windows 98 most likely. Then my parents got a Dell Dimension E310 that came with XP in 2006. Granted I was 4 when my parents bought said computer. Didn't use it much until after it got upgraded to Windows 7. However I did get a Dell Dimension 2350 and it was my first personal computer that was primarily used by me. It ran XP and I used for about 3-4 years until my grandparents gave me a old netbook running Windows 7 Starter. But yeah. XP was my starting point that I actually remembered lol.

Some of the computers at my primary school used Windows 3.0 and 3.1, so it would have to be one of those. Neither of them were current at the time though. The earliest version of Windows I used while it was still current was XP when my dad bought our first PC back in 2001/02.

My first Windows version was Windows XP when I started to learn computer and Windows usage in a school. However, when I was 10 my cousin gave me an Azer which came with Windows 7, and some months after that I broke it. Then my mother bought me a Toshiba with Windows 8 which I still have, I installed Vista on that computer so I now have two computers, one with Windows Vista and another with Windows 10.

The first Windows version i used was Windows XP when i was 4-5 in a desktop pc, then i got a Windows Vista laptop (which i loved and it ran smoothly) and i upgraded to Windows 7 later on, and when Windows 10 came out it automatically was forced to install in my laptop which ruined the performance, now that laptop has Windows Vista again because of it's smooth and fast, but i now have a new laptop with Windows 11.

I don't remember it that much, but I think it was Windows Vista because of the wallpaper colors i remember (yellow and green), but i might be wrong.

The first Windows OS I remember using while it was still current was Windows 7, but I also remember using my grandparents' computer which was running Vista long after it became outdated. When I was a toddler I had my own Windows XP machine... again, long after it was outdated. I fantasize about running a home server on an early-2000s OS, maybe Windows Server 2003, but my current home server just runs Windows 10.

For me, it was Windows 7 on the family laptop. I also remember the desktops in my elementary school' computer lab being a mix of Windows XP and Windows 7 computers.
Currently, I'm on a Windows 10 personal laptop.
