everyone young who watches that anime jojo's bizarre adventure knows roundabout by yes. i think rush is awesome for making prog music more mainstream (though i wasnt there so without historical knowledge i have to submit to anyones statements as to whether prog was established and actually the movement wasnt made more popular by them but prog existed and opened the door for them to make money as a touring band with the style they had-- im not an expert or anything and i guess that could be the case too)
im not big into genesis but some of their songs are really awesome. i also think phil collins has some absolute bangers and i had hello i must be going on cassette as a teenager and played it quite a few times. i always felt like thru these walls was like a meta song about being able to read subtexts, but thats probably just my personal interpretation as i remember a live recording having him say something like " heres a song for all the perverts " i've thought about trying to cover that song and maybe omitting or changing the line about seeing boys and girls playing with toys. really vague line and doesnt seem like it has evil intent but i figure in this age it might be tasteful to just alter that as it could be such a much more loaded line now that humanity is much more suspicious of everyone of being awful i guess ( and can you really blame them, shit is zany on this planet )
