Oh, Hannibal. I don't think I love any other TV show as much as this one. I didn't really pay much attention the first time I watched it, but I've watched it three and a half times, and every time I find something new and special to me. Whether I’m watching TikTok or YouTube, chatting with others, or just thinking to myself, I discover so many interesting details. Everything is perfect
— the unique relationship between the two men, which is truly complex and strange at first glance, but if you look closer, everything becomes clear and you get that “Oh, right—how could I not have realized that!” moment. It’s all mixed together—a special passion, something platonic, lofty and unique, fury, allure.
- References to culture, art, and mythology. There’s no need to elaborate here—it’s immediately clear, given the references to the fact that the main character, Hannibal, is an allusion to the Wendigo, the Vampir, and, overall, we’re presented with the image of a non-human who rejects everything sacred and profane, possessing a special “God syndrome.”
- Intimate moments. I like that sex isn’t portrayed here as something vulgar, and there’s only one scene. But there are plenty of visual effects and stylistic techniques, so I’m glad I don’t see anything explicit but still understand what’s happening. A special thanks to the authors, because I really dislike when such moments are depicted in a lewd way.
