Opening this thread to put a recent scam pattern on everyone's radar here on SpaceHey. If you've been getting unsolicited DMs from "artists" trying to sell you graphics, layouts, or illustrations, here is exactly how they operate so you don't waste your time.
The Script They Use:
Step 1: They drop a legitimate link (like a Behance portfolio) to show off "their" work.
Step 2: Once you reply with a compliment, they immediately pitch a paid commission for a "reasonable price."
Step 3: If you ask a completely normal question that isn't part of their script (e.g., "Where are you located?"), they give a one-word answer and instantly block you.
Why They Do It:
Stolen Art: The links are safe to click, but the portfolio almost certainly belongs to a real creator they are impersonating.
Efficiency: They are running a mass volume game. They don't want to chat or build a connection; they want fast cash. If you ask questions, you are a "hard target," so they block you immediately to focus on easier victims.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up. If someone acts weird or blocks you out of nowhere after you ask a simple question, don't worry—you just saved yourself from a scammer.
