finale review (SPOILERS!!!)

holy moly bro, so I watched the finale premiere on YouTube, and that was AMAZING. I didn't go to see it in the theaters (I KNOW it stank in there :sob:) but seeing it today was my first time watching it spoiler-free, and I'm so glad I got to watch it blind. seeing the show grow from when I watched the pilot several days after its initial release has been amazing to see. the animation quality, dialogue, soundtrack, voice-acting. and overall plot has developed SO WELL and frankly, I LOVED the finale. although I have a few criticisms, I would give the episode a 9.5/10.

one thing I really liked about the finale is how we got a nice, bittersweet ending to it, giving the cast a nice, full ending was really cool to see. caine's apology to the circus members and him genuinely being surprised by the moon's genuine appreciation for him really warmed my heart and was super cute. tbh I used to hate Caine before episode 8, where he finally got some real development, and what Alex rochon (his va) and gooseworx did with his character was so good, and made me actually sympathize with one of my least favorite characters (I love Caine now, especially now that we got to see him develop more).

don't even get me started on jax abstracting bro, I don't want to believe it. Jax has been my favorite character since the pilot because I see a lot of myself in him, and his defense-mechanisms and his way of coping is something I have related to nearly my whole life. he was written BEAUTIFULLY and is such a complex and well-written characters i have seen in a long time. every time he screwed up a relationship with someone by pushing them away really pissed me off (good job gooseworx) and I feel like his abstraction really helped push a lot of the other members closer.

although the episode was amazing both in quality and story, I do have some genuine criticisms about the episode. I think it was SUPER out of character for pomni not to check up on Jax in the beginning of the episode, and the only reasonable explanation is that she was too shocked processing what had just happened to even think about how Jax was doing. another think I didn't like very much about the episode is how centered it was on Jax. even though Jax will always be my favorite character, I really wish we got more development on characters like pomni and ragatha and gangle. although Jax is canonically one of the main main characters, I wish we had more focus on the other characters and how they grew as people. and the biggest criticism I have about the episode is how much I cried because JAX DIDNT DIE JAX DIDNT DIE JAX DIDNT DIE I LOVE HIM TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

overall I absolutely adored the episode and including Stevie wonder's "isn't she lovely" in jax's recap literally made me start bawling like bro I haven't cried that much in a very long time. it was a phenomenal finale that ending in literally the best way possible, I am super satisfied with the ending of such an amazing and record-breaking series. tadc will always be in my heart and maybe the real digital circus was the friends we made along the way. anyways my Jax plushie wil be getting a LOT of hugs and kisses tonight.
