How to find remote work

I recently moved (out of necessity, not choice) and its essentially in the middle of the woods (though I'm exaggerating a bit). I had to leave my previous job because of it, and now there is basically no in person options to be found, let alone any without accessible transportation (Busses + taxi do not run out here)

Indeed and other adjacent sites aren't helpful at all, famously, but I do still check them on the offchance I get a lead somewhere. Other issue is this 'town' (I am on the outskirts of somewhere that can hardly be considered a 'town') is kinda country-vibes and I am visibly alternative, so the in person options i have managed to apply for - even though those have also been incredibly inconvenient for me - ive been blatantly told no or denied with the heavy implications that it was due to my piercings / tattoos. I'm willing to dye my hair a natural color and wear more modest piercings for work, but I won't outright take them out, and can't do much about tattoos.

Remote work seems to be an overly saturated route, but it's also looking to be one of my only options.
