danmei!!

Danmei (xiaxia) is a form of yaoi set in ancient China, the most popular being TGCF or also known as heaven officials blessing. I would 100% recommend this type of yaoi, not only to support the authors that are risking so much to post this kind of book because some have been arrested due to breaking Chinese censorship laws but also because there really good books in general. I'd like to say the books are 50/50 plot and romance with the plots being super interesting and unique. though before you read ANY of these books do background research and check warnings on the book first as they can get very dark (ahem ahem  肉包不吃肉/ Ròu Bāo Bù Chī Ròu's books) but you can find one that fits your taste as there's hundreds of them. i would personally start with MXTX's books (heavens officials blessing, scum villain self-saving system and grandmaster of demonic cultivation) because there mostly known as beginner friendly! good luck and safe readings!
