why did you start watching the show?

I loved Silence of the Lambs too (and the subsequent sequels Hannibal and Red Dragon), but what drew me to the series was the accidental/fortunate/serendipitous discovery of the song Become the Beast by Karlienne.

It would be years before I actually got around to watching the series, however. I came upon the song in 2018 and only started watching the series in late 2025, but during the length of that time, the song has visited my head from time to time like a daytime specter from behind a soft pale curtain. Morbid fascination and curiosity finally got the better of me and I started the series with the expectation that I was going to be treated to a great murder mystery story like the originals were.

I... Did not expect to connect to the show in the way I did.
