I'm new here, to SH (yes ik my account is 2 months old, but I've only used SH like 2 or 3 times) and the furry community altogether, sooo ofc I got a lot of questions but since I'm very nice, I'm gonna put it all into one big question! (actually like 2 but who cares)

What should I do if I wanna be part of the community? Am I already a furry just by saying it? I don't really know if I count as one, and I really think furries are like really awesome ppl and I want to be one but I'm so outside of the fandom that I'm kinda surprised I even know what furries are. I don't know any furries irl and I don't have an oc or sona or whatever, and honestly I am the most un-creative person ever so I don't even know how to make one. I also am very much BROKE. The only thing I do is watch a bunch of furry streamers/ytbers, con vids and get instantly hit with the immense feeling of loneliness and envy.

You guys are just really weird in a way that I really like, and you all are so fun and full of personality, but I don't know if I can really be like that too.

I don't know I just wanna be a part of something and make friends.

Haiii!! Furry of 3 years here :3 (But I've had interest in anthro animals longer than that!) I feel like I can help, so here's my advice! ^w^

Being apart of the furry community can be done through many ways, and I can tell you already have a lot of admiration for the community, like you watching videos and stuff. In my experience, I usually participate in discord servers and other online spaces to feel apart of the community. With safety of course! And honestly, I haven't gotten to the point of being able to go to cons yet but that's what I do.

In terms of friendships, all my friends I'm very close to know I'm a furry, I don't have any IRL friends that are really in the fandom, so I can get the struggle on that part. As a young furry myself, who is a minor, I'd imagine when I'm an adult I'll be able to participate more, and assuming that you are a minor, you will be able to aswell!!

I'd say just give it some time and that case, or look for local meets. I've done that before in my state a long while ago and was a bit surprised to see how local the fandom can be! So do that if you feel safe to do so.
