I'm tired of how overwhelming and stressful modern social media is. Any good websites, online games, apps you guys can recommend?

hi c:
I too became very overstimulated by social media. I started to collect vhs and dvds. I got rid of my internet at one point too. I got switch games, a few CDs, puzzles and made sure to get some sun for 10-15 minutes a day, where I would read as well. Journaling is hard but Im starting with once a month, whenever I feel happy.
My goal is to pretend that I am living in the 90s. With pinterest and Youtube haha
I could recommend everything thing I got but I think you have to get things that interest you and/or are nostalgic to you. For example, I play sodoku and not crossword puzzles because words don't interest me or keep me entertained.

So, if you want to go classic, you can sign up for Neopets. There's games that earn you money, and you get a cute pet you can take care of (and they do not die, which I find v important). I've had my pets since oh... 1999? Long ass time. It's fun to kill some time.
If you like webcomics, might I suggest Dominic Deegan? It's been running since '09 with a large back catalogue, and I find the story to be wonderful once the artist got his feet under him. It can be violent and gory in the original series, and in the second series it can also be explicit at times, but it's very good and will take a long time to work through.

Hello!
Fully agree with the recommendation of neopets, but if you want that TRUE classic feel check out virtu.pet! You do have to fill out an application because I think its all run by like one person? But once you're in it's SO good. Other good hits in the kinda virtual pets/early internet-vibe realm include Marapets, Dappervolk, Click Critters, IcePets, We The Pixies (revival of pixie hollow online), and Flight Rising.

It's been posted on this website before i'm sure, but wiby is a great search engine for browsing old and often abandoned websites. Nobodyhere.com is also a good one. It's like a person's journal turned into an interactive website

Hey!
I'll second Wiby, it's a really fun distraction to see where you end up. With Youtube I've just been shown a trick wherein you search for a chosen topic, let's say "Playstation 2" and then type "before:2012" (or any year) and it won't show uploads past that date.

This website for sure! But also Neopets or Tumblr. Tumblr is more of 2010's and is a little more "endless feed", BUT it's got a lot of customization options and is very "nerd friendly" lol
Neocities has also been fun to play around with, but that one is like a brain workout lol, at least for me. I really have to work my brain to remember and relearn HTML for that haha.
Outside of technology, check out your local library and see what events they have. Idk what age group you are, but I know my library has TONS of analog-friendly teen events. Also any used game store, they usually have fun events there too
