how do i change the colour of the blurbs??

its taken me a week to figure this out and no matter what code i use it doesnt work (ive used yt tutorials, the code for the blurbs in this group and the code from my current layout and no matter what i use the blurb table will not change colour!!! it says that ugly light orange :(
