Before we start, what is Klamydia?
Klamydia is a Finnish band from Vaasa, Finland. The band’s name is called Klamydia (Chlamydia in English) because it was the worst name they could think of. The band has been active since 1988 and continues to release music to this very day (dedication in my opinion!)
I have been a fan of Klamydia since 2024. I am still trying to listen to all their songs (they have a HUGE discography), and I want to give my opinion on them.
Veroparatiisi - 9/10 (Peak song, but it kinda went downhill nearing the end.)
Just for you - 7/10 (It’s nice but I wouldn’t listen to it daily or call it my favorite song, but the voice echoes are a nice touch.)
Säähavaintoja - 8/10 (The instrumental and backing vocals are awesome. The main vocals are good too but it sounds a little lazy.)
Aika - 10/10 (Lyrics aggressive and instrumental aggressive, and i love that, a majority of times i prefer when their songs are aggressive, added to my playlist.)
Kuljukka - 6/10 (Song was boring but not bad, the instrumental and lyrics weren’t special to me)
Sysky - 7/10 (Reminds me of a less better Aika for some reason, the instrumental was less aggressive, in general everything was less aggressive, and slow.)
Kantapään kautta - 7/10 (Reminds me of Ma lahen himaan but slower sounding and with clapping in the background.)
Tosi miäs - 5.5/10 (It just doesn’t stand out to me, I like the vocals though, sorry!)
Naama puutuu - 4/10 (Didn’t stand out to me again, it’s like tosi mias but less good, and the vocals at the end where they got louder just didn’t fit.)
Metanol man - 4/10 (Again didn’t catch my attention, I feel like since Tosi mias it’s going downhill, and the distorted lyrics at the end were annoying.)
Ukko nooa - 8/10 (OK we’re going uphill again! I like the backing vocals and instrumental. added to my playlist!)
Sementtiin - 5/10 (Instrumental was boring to be honest, we’re going a bit downhill again.)
Urheilutapaturma - 6/10 (The vocals are overall aggressive for the instrumental. I feel like the instrumental should also be aggressive if the lyrics are gonna be that way.)
Tätä oli elämäni - 7/10 (Chill song, nothing special and the backing vocals made it a little annoying.)
Jaatinen - 8/10 (I LOVE the vocals and instrumental but the harmonica (or whatever instrument it was) threw me off a bit.)
Sielun huuto - 8/10 (We MIGHT be going back uphill! I love the vocals and instrumental (the guitar specially!)
Pällistelyä - 7/10 (I like both the instrumental and vocals, but that aggressive instrumental/chill vocal thing happened again, it was less bad than Urheilutapaturma)
Joiku - 6/10 (No comment except for I like the vocals, the song isn’t special to me.)
Pilke silmäkulmassa - 10/10 (I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH IM SO SERIOUS. It’s the first ever Klamydia song I listened to and it led me to discover more of their discography. This was already on my playlist.)
Nina Autio + hidden song - 8/10 for Nina Autio (I liked to vocals and kazoo surprisingly, this is a strong ending to the album!)
3/10 for hidden song (This is straight ASS, it sounds like something you would hear in a shitty obscure beatboxing rap mixtape that a group of four middle schoolers made. I didn’t understand anything and the only word I heard was “motherfuckin”. The backing vocals were them coughing and spitting. I’m not sure if this was a joke (WHICH IM HOPING TO GOD IT IS) but this is HORRIFIC.)
Overall, if I gave this album a rating based off songs, it would be a 7.5/10. There were some downhills and uphills (if that makes sense). The album cover design is a 8/10, it’s bland but it stands out to me also.
