Is Beta 1.7.3 the best version?

Im new to this group and I wanted to ask what people thought of Beta 1.7.3.

Its honestly good.

I mean the combat is good to PvP, and overall playing multiplayer in this version is so fun.

The downsides I can think of is the fact that there is no real goal to the game, you cant go to the end because that wasn't added yet, but it does have the nether.


But it is so fun despite it being a very simplistic version of the game.


Its also good if you are looking for an older Minecraft experience. (Due to the fact that it was before the game even came out, AKA 1.0).


But overall I dont know if this is just my opinion or not.

Personally I loooooovee the older versions of Minecraft, especially Beta 1.7.3!

I love the fact that there is no goal to the game, it feels more like a sandbox than the modern versions of the game. I don't really like the fact in modern versions that a major part of the experience is locked behind a very grindy mid game (getting to the End) which personally I don't find very fun. I personally focus on the building, and creative aspects of the game. 

I think Beta 1.7.3 is the perfect version for people who just want to build, but still want to have a sense of progression without the grinding. It feels like I can go at my own pace, and not worry about some big final goal. 

Mostly though, I just love how limited the older versions are. The limited experience gets me to think more creatively about the builds I make, or how I do things in my world. 

Beta 1.7.3 feels like the core of what Minecraft would become. The experience of the game is just so different, but still so familiar. I can't help but be continuously drawn back into Beta 1.7.3 which no other versions can do.
