Drowning The Light is a one man black metal band from Australia which mix elements from DSBM (Depressive Suicidal Black Metal) And Dungeon Synth.
Drowning The Light formed in 2003 by the sole member: Azgorh
Drowning The Light started of strong, the same year Drowning The Light was formed 4 demos was made, these demos switch in between Black metal and Dungeon Synth
Demo 1. January 2nd, 2003 Securing Your Future for Satan
Drowning The Light's first demo released on january 2nd, 2003 and would be titled "Securing Your Future for Satan". The original recording from the orginal tape is hard to find online BUT the 2 tracks from Securing Your Future for Satan is on the compilation titled "The Longing"
Securing Your Future for Satan was orignally only limited to 3 total copies, and according to rumors the few tapes there were pressed have since been destroyed and only Azgorh.
Securing Your Future for Satan rings in on about 22 minutes with the first track "Fallen at the Cross Roads" being 2 minutes and the other track "The Haunting of the Black Aristocracy" being a whole 20 minutes
Demo 2. May 2003 The Haunting of the Black Aristocracy
Drowning The Light's second demo released some time in May 2003 and would be titled "The Haunting of the Black Aristocracy". This demo has the EXACT same songs from Securing Your Future for Satan the only difference is that the track "The Haunting of the Black Aristocracy" is a different version,
The Haunting of the Black Aristocracy is limited to 3 copies like Securing Your Future for Satan.
Demo 3. June 2003 Howling Forests of Desolation
Drowning The Light's third demo released some time in June 2003 and would be titled "Howling Forests of Desolation". This demo has 3 track which round up to a whole 18 minutes.
The demo includes these 3 tracks: "Winds of Solitude and Despair" "Howling Forests of Desolation" and "Requiem of a Fallen Warrior"
Demo 4. August 2003 Dark Winter Depression
Drowning The Light's foruth and last demo of the 2003 demo era released sometime in August 2003 and would be titled "Dark Winter Depression". This demo has 4 tracks rounding up to a whole 27 minutes.
"Dark Winter Depression" includes these 4 tracks: "The Longing" "Dark Winter Depression" "Dawn of Blood" and "Drowning the Light"
Dark Winter Depression is probally the best demo from this era since it includes some of Drowning The Light's finest Dungeon Synth.
