Why do RPs suck now? (rant)

Recently, I've noticed how much it sucks to roleplay (For me personally at least). Somethings just changed. 

Firstly, you need to find a roleplay. Sounds easy enough right? Wrong. Roleplay forums? Nobody talks in forums anymore. Go onto social media to find groups? Get called cringe. Go into basically ANY roleplay game? People are sitting on their butts not even roleplaying. The best (and only) place I've found has been discord.

So you go and search for a server. Easy? No. On my most recent search, I joined a server that didn't allow roleplay responses longer than 5 sentences. One literally promoted using to hard-r because it was funny. Finally I find a server that seemed promising. A good OC creation system, brand new, and active owner... Then the owner said the N-word. I have one server I mod in that's really good, but its so small and dead. The same goes for other servers, small and dead. A lot of the time many servers have preestablished friend groups that only want to roleplay with each other. 

I miss the days when more people roleplayed. Roleplaying is so fun and a great way to be creative! I wish people didn't see it as cringey or dirty. Has anyone else been struggling with roleplay?
