I sent another goth one of my playlist (it was Cybergoth, or at least I thought it was) she told me it wasn’t goth so then I posted it on a goth gc and I asked them if it was goth, they said no and that it was edm🥀 it wasnt edm it was ebm . I thought ebm was Cybergoth?? Was I lied to or is it actually goth

Hello friend. Well, I am not pretty well informed about this topic, so correct me if i'm wrong. As far as i'm concerned, Cybergoth is not literally "goth", instead they're a sub-goth genre kind of thing, kin to goth, but not completely like it. About industrial music is, kinda weird. Industrial is like an adyacent goth music genre, tecnically, it isn't goth, but it's not rare or uncommon to see goth people listening to industrial. Pretty related, but not fully the same. I hope this helped you clarify some things. Anybody, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, i'm still learning :)
